In still life visions of reflection,

in crystalline shimmers of moonlight,

I feel clarity

in rain clouds building on my horizon’s edge

only to be kept at bay by trick of breath expressed;

your gift

from a life spent without accounting

without shelter in the open

has been to attain a world without focused memory,

a moment,

a year,

the same as eternity;

it is not a sickness this thing called your disease,

it is a blessing in a world created only for its brilliance

birthed fully formed

completed and forgotten without pain,

without remorse,

in joined moments living countless lifetimes

in a single day.

icebox...this is very profound and seems as familiar as time's waking surrender to the day.

For me, that "gift" would be Love.

Left me pondering ... do we always have the choice?

You are a blessed writer.

I won't pretend to understand what your true meaning is here, but I was left with the feeling that this was/is about someone that cannot help that they are like this and that it may not be the affliction that labels have implied....

and whatever your true meaning is...this is so softly, intimately beautiful...

I am saving this one.

I always read your pennings.   I always return to them...many times.    Sometimes to read again and other times...just to look at your eyes.  ::smiles::    This is one of those which I keep returning to read.  Wonderful write !  Now...I will return to your eyes.
