Listening to every heart

Transform / Change

Years ago, when a course of action
requiring sharp scalpels
was the method required to
“fix” some defect
of this body, I remember, that

I cringed, cried scared,
coddled what temper
and timbre of me that would soon
be lost, gone, extinct.

But they say, change is good.
{Never did know who “they” are.)

But as winds shift today,
a pungent undulation of someone’s
lilac bush sweeps senses
halting broken dreams,
spinning new fantasies that
embrace some good of change.

Such is Spring.

Some other good is coming,
but it is only a sense, sensation,
awareness, impression,
some deep seated intuition of
more.

It was when, instead, of letting the
surroundings of my keeper
change my ways, that I
delved deep into heart, found
meaning in self, then
changed those surroundings of the keeper.

Indeed, it is spring.
New beginnings.
I shook change
and it spoke back,
move on!
I heard it, and its song.

Nothing is forever.
Change is good.

And life?

Ah, Life.

A subject that
should always be open
to mystery.

Don't you believe it to be so?

Change.....

....is change.

It is we who are good in it...or not.

...which of course doesn't change the meaning of this poem, one bit.

Yes, I believe change is good (as long as it's not permanent that is...)  I like the idea of changing changes (maybe to complete a cycle right back from where I started!  Who knows?)   Sure enjoyed being here again and reading this poem.  Great to hear it in words and thought.

a wonderful, BEAUTIFUL poem Sunshine.

Well versed and well plotted.
still,

a bit l-o-n-g for me, but, now, that's me!

Could you have said the very same with fewer words?

Only my opinion...Thanks.

I agree. Change is good. It is what keeps one sharp and on their toes. Too easy to become complacent. And oh, I could smell those lilacs!  Had my borders filled with different shades and white back in Ct. and I do miss them. But look for other plants to care for. best to you, martyjo

Perfect! The only thing in life we can count on is change.

Well worded.

Change is permanent.  Sadly, there are some who push the break pedal to the floor and hid.  They are missing a beautiful ride!

The never ending changing world changes changes to change our thoughts of stillness

Some change is good, some isn't.    Some is nature, other humanity changing what isn't good

It is easy to say nature changes when you dont face the hurrican season

It is however good to see rebirth of the seasons but what changes do we wean when change is often what we fear most

Your words as always make me think Sunshine

Oh yes, how boring life would be if we all knew what the future had in store for us each and every day. So much of life's happiness comes in the anticipation of what lies ahead. Change is good

" ... open to mystery", yes, dear Karilea, always!

Change is to be welcomed, for it represents an opportunity to move ahead... coping with new challenges. Nothing is meant to be static ...

Oh, the fragrance of the lilacs ... a call from the past, something to remember, still moving on ...

Beautiful!

Love,
Margherita

Yes, indeed.
This poem is not too long at all, very well-expressed with a great presentation. Beautiful, poignant and a keeper too
Karilea, long time no see!  It's good to read you again, you always were one of my favourite poets, you always write with such wisdom and grace.

Yes Sun,  I do so humbly agree...and life,
well....the mystery of it is what sometimes
drives our every moment or at least some
part of it...for we never know what will
change unless we are consciously trying to
do so...
