Tonight, I shall sit and smell the freesias on my sun deck, drink a fine glass of wine, read some poetry, perhaps in rhyme. for what good is ~LIFE~ if it cannot be enjoyed? And as I thusly sit I shall also hit upon a poem or a song, maybe both, perhaps, a chord or two of beautiful music. For what time is there guaranteed to me tomorrow? When the bell tolls again it may well toll for me, so at this moment in time I shall immerse myself in passionate rhyme. Will you sit with me tonight? |

You speak from my heart "Ben battle was a soldier bold, and used to war's arlarms A cannon ball took off his legs So he laid down his arms And as others carried him from the field said 'he lets other shoot' for here I leave my second leg and the forty-second foot" Thomas Hood The closest to a mentor in my writing I have and these words from Midnitesun are 'Thomas Hood shaped in excellence" We thought her sleeping when she died and dying when she slept Sorry Midnite I have gone on, on your words, but is it not a lesser sin, to inspire words Dave |

T'was the night before the winter whence I sat upon an ember, glowing red and hot as hell was my shorts that now did smell. And before the moon did set was perchance a chance to bet that the coal that left it's ember would again be my remember! |

Oh the scent...it came a wafting through the door and down the stair. Had us all there sitting, gasping for some clean untainted air. But the door was shut and bolted from the front and from the rear. And the scent, it sat and jolted from my hands my waiting beer! |

Oh she scrambled to the kitchen looking high and low to see For it was the smell now reachin' cross the sill and to the sea. And the sails of sailors wilted, shrunk and fell upon the deck. Then the ships leaned hard and tilted till they all were now ship wrecked. But the Mate he found a flower that did smell so nice and pure. Sat there picking for an hour no more of this could he endure! |

chuckling here and wondering, about the powers of scent is it any wonder that bees make so much honey? perhaps, they can't help themselves? LOL I really DID sit and smell the freesias tonight. And yes, I really DID imbibe in a glass of wine. And yes, the bees really DID buzz me today. LOL. It's a small price to pay, getting stung.... |
