the tide pulled out too far this time

my feet floundered, sank deeply into the sands

digging in did no good

you are

  gone

and nothing shall change that

  reality

and even if
a new tide should wash across these feet,
they will resist any feelings of refreshment,
any hope of standing upon solid ground

or will they?

who knows where the tide goes
who knows where my love grows?
if only we knew ahead of time, but that would take the mystery out.....
dont mind the rambling..its the tides sweeping me

There's always hope that they will, to be all the stronger for the next tide...
I love your metaphor in this one!

No matter how warm the sun shines, or how cool the water runs,
resisting is the most painful!

Wonderful expression Kacy, this feels so real!

Enjoyed this, Kacy.  Yes, one doesn't ever really know until there in the tide of the times.

Kacy....or will they?  My favorite tide is the one that leaves all that wet sand, and yet it never lasts.

Sand and water are so unpredictable.

May you find the refreshment and solid ground.

I understand this in its sadness but also in its hope

I've been standing on that shore for years
