and...this is the last serious reflection...just been thinking about 'Becca' and Chip lately...

The poet has said for many a day,
That time is a thief who steals hours away,
and takes the blush from the cheek,
The sparkle from the eye,
A little of all as it passes by.

Time takes the bright luster from the hair,
Steals the gold, but leaves silver there
Gone hearty laughter, the youthful sounds
But when I think of my blessings
Great joy abounds

A springy step isn't there to see,
Time exchanged it for poise and dignity,
Where once I ran, I now will walk
My best performances
Are only talk

Time gives one vision of yester-year,
Hard to recall without a tear,
Temporal were the things time took from me,
I've had so many joys
And paid a small fee.

(Lately I've had dreams
Of things I used to do
Folks I used to know
And friends that have been true).

I didn't know either one, but when put down in words, this was a signficant dedication to some very fine people.

Those who have passed on are not gone as long as they live in our memories.  A quiet reflected write Toerag.

Hard to recall without a tear,
Temporal were the things time took from me,
I've had so many joys
And paid a small fee.

Sometimes that fee is immense... and yet... we'd mortgage our very soul for one more taste of the joy.

You've written so many things that are favorites of mine... this is definitely among the best.

And I thank you for your reflections... Becky was a blessing to us all...

So are you, dear friend... so are you. *S*

Thank you for remembering my dear Becca in such a touching piece.  She used to talk of you a lot and reminded me of posts you authored.  She was truly a family member here.  Every once in a while, I'll read something and in a flash wonder if she's read it yet.  But reality always strikes before my thought is over.

God bless!

Yet another sniffle, for Rebecca was such a class act!  I miss her, even though I only knew her for a very short time, she was a beautiful soul.

That is always going to happen but the person doesn't decide it happens

Before you have thought of dying, there are always those who have you buried.

Able to a joy but "too senior for the position"

Willing to work for less

"the client would be suspicious that with your experience, you would take that rate"

How many gangs beat up large white males

An older person would be there better target, unless of course

They studied Kung Foo

My words I am trying to delete

I posted ideas of something I was working on and accidently picked up the wrong file and I am unable to delete it because I've got it posted as a add to words.

Can you please accept my apologies for this

Having lost three people who were close to me in the last seven months - cancer on my wife's aunt, my neighbour and age on my father-in-law

You have my thoughts

Rae..I'm not sure how you are related or knew Rebecca, but, she emailed me daily when I was so terribly ill...and, even with her problems, never, ever ceased to try to cheer me up....she was without a doubt, one in a million and truly one of my favorite people....she never complained, never said anything about her problems...just did her damndest to try to bring me out of mine...what a gal!!!!

I do not know her but I can see she was greatly loved. Does she have poems posted here and can someone point me in the direction to read her?

Toe, this is a lovely tribute. Thank you.

Toe, Rae is Becca's mom....

And you've brought a tear to  my eye with this one. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of her. I know she's in a better place but I wish she'd had more time with us here on earth.

Thoughts are power and  set memories aflame with cherished warmth when love kindles the mind.  We don't always call it that, but I can think of no better word.
