Sand in my Shoes Sand in my shoes and ice in my booze I sit on the shore and hear the waves roar And the sea gulls reflect me no respect They spew on my pate and ground of my sate It is not easy to withdraw The echoes of life in its pour The changing of the dust and grime The tick tock and the rush of time It is a dither either way The come apart, the wither of day A hardship for the mind to lease The smidgeon of a moment’s peace There is no stop the moving clock Nor a harbor or a peaceful dock It pushes away each reached for goal How can we fill our hungry soul? Be it ever so humble I sit a monk With sand in my shoes and often drunk |

And so Seymour, Time marches on and it is now time to pick up your quill and write a "new song." Thanks |

"How can we fill our hungry soul?" I was advised the other day to drink more - it seems as if you've got that one covered but that it doesn't actually work. Guess we'll just have to stick with the sand. Enjoyed your words! |

I read this, wondered at your view... and will probably have to read it over a few more times. It does occur to me how restless the seas of mankinds thoughts are as we seek to make waves with our pinprick thoughts in the immense scheme of things. It does make me ponder. PEACE! Karen |
