Walking a rope
Above pools of regret
Patchwork scabs
Lends proof of missteps

Festering sores
Seep through my eyes
Threaten a tempest
From memory's ride

Day that was bright
Now lost in the dark
Echoes the pain
Of stifling loss

Nets of tissue
Wearing quite thin
Strength's projection
Slipping again

Lurking in shadows
Under the haze
A spirit of sorrow
Mirrors the brave
