4722 A Mother’s Travail 18 December 2005 Children by numbers born a mother to carry and then bare This naked child to life only days he did ground face Second to oldest - but elder to live forty in five years a target never to be For who was the ageist in sister now while another son did open his heart A mothers loss miscarried to term her travail in number five To thank God her youngest was in Christ born alive Six days of birth - out lived in child this parenthesis to father in sum Her three children she remained to hold her own being frail in entity all told a poet who cares |
