Weight I weighed the substance of a day While at a counters dream display I placed each act of my dispense And read the scale for consequence It tipped a might the heavy side Satisfaction and bit of pride The weight of whipped cream is not light Although the taste a sheer delight It was a disappointing find The lack of counter weight of kind For tilt is all important here When time to slide the weight I fear If it be up, your heaven bound And down I hear a crackling sound You cannot change the weight of scale You do it right or else you fail so I’ve trimmed the whipped cream and the pride Until there’s nothing left to hide |

Seymour? You truly do. In all things weighted, know it is always in your favor. |

Good morning, Sy! You catch at my thougts and pull at heart strings! Weight has so many connotations, but this verse holds a great truth for me: "It was a disappointing find The lack of counter weight of kind For tilt is all important here When time to slide the weight I fear" I was given a definition of weight once, because I battle with too many pounds physically and the desire to be rid of them. It was this: Weight is the burden of the false influence we carry. The wisdom of those last two lines in your poem says it all. What a challenge! Karen |
