5349 Phantasmagoric Shadows 26 April 2006 Even in the dark, a shadow was still cast even in daytime, sleep was slept The Owl of salutation, an Eagle upon the wind blowing bubbles in a bathtub, night unto rest A spinning world, each turn another circle would they know the pains deep inside Another moment to live, months of fear until the sun did rise, in finding warmth An embrace, huddled together unified this thing called love, as eyes meet in breath As unto grace, thought battles, eternity fire, a flickering fame, or embers a glow For wherever there was dark there was also day to a knight of phantasmagoria The rendezvous, a dream to dream awake in the nightmare of a new day borne phantasmagoric, phantasmagorical, surreal, surrealistic - (characterized by fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtapositions; "a great concourse of phantasmagoric shadows" - J.C.Powys; "the incongruous imagery in surreal art and literature") phantasmagoria - (a constantly changing medley or real or imagined images (as in a dream)) © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
