There are people that have lived their life, who we will never know
But they through time have left a mark, which ever seems to grow
It’s grown to make us realize the hardships that were then
And why we all do take this day to recognize these men

Each was born into this world; to dream, to love, to be
To find their future and their place in countries that were free
But fate it called and off they went to serve and fight a war
For that today we thank each one, but question so much more

The past of years, our history of wars bring on regret
So here on this Remembrance Day, we vow lest we forget
The many who had passed away, for country lived and died
The many who marched into war with friends right by their side

Each was filled with youth and pride, adventure took their mind
But none did know what lay ahead and what they were to find
Then fate disguised as honor took them deep to battle’s core
Which scarred so called humanity, in way it should no more

The world’s so filled with fields of war and crosses that do bear
The many thousand soldier names that fought and now are there
But families hold their memories still and stories that won’t die
And really though they might have gone, they’ll never say goodbye

So ANZACS and the many who have fought throughout each year
We’ll lest forget your epic stand, for country you held dear
I pray we heed the lessons now to mirror our respect
For here still are descendents of the ones you did protect

To go through battle sharing fear, but onward till its end
Has shown the guts and spirit held by all who did defend
And why today’s not only for the ones who fought that day
It recognizes all the troops who left and stayed away

So let us join with freedom’s hand, but recognize those gone
Let us fight with words and leave the men where they belong
Find kindness and not bitterness for that will lead the way
To having not to grieve a while for those who passed away

Let us say a prayer of thanks for peace and freedoms touch
Let us hold these special thoughts, for those that gave so much

Lovely to see you here my friend, thank you for you words in reply. I hope not to see wars again, but it seems the human way. Have a nice day tomorrow in memory and time off. Be well.

Sincerely
Rick
