How old fools Wanting to be seen as heroes Strut and shout in wide green fields Under a noon day sun Or in bars Lounges And young boys being bravos In their minds skirt the jungle And bang their drums While in its shadows What is real Pads in silence Upon dangerous ground Aware their world On the other side of speech and screen Lives in fear Of the tiger’s eyes |

Oh, my goodness! I would love to pad around the inside of your mind! Count me on the tiger side of the world! And what is this doing at the bottom of the page without any replies?????? Well now it is at the top! - Owl |

How old fools Wanting to be seen as heroes Strut and shout in wide green fields Under a noon day sun Having known so many true heroes who are and were... unanimously... silent regarding their exploits - your first lines pack a particular punch. And... "What is real pads in silence"... is applicable to so many aspects of life. Yes... it does... and all the loud in the world doesn't make it otherwise. Beautiful work!!! |
