Fixed

I’m fixed upon a bride of woe
Of things I cannot see or know
Dimensionally I’m prison bound
Fixed upon this earth of round

Below I see the great abyss
Above the skies seems heavens bliss
If I drop I drop a stone
To heaven I can’t fly alone

I cannot stay forever still
For time presents each one a bill
And to the piper we must pay
For each and every living day

Complaining seems to do no good
At least from all that’s understood
And since my poker chips are low
It’s all or nothing where I go

I’ve anteed all that’s left my time
I am the pot and it’s not mine

I will bet you and raise you 10 than your pot will be staying right where it is for a long time yet.  I can't help but get a bit of humor out of the first couple of lines though I guess I put a marital spin on those words.

Always a great day with you around Sy.

Nice flow and so true
...And I would have to agree with the note about the marital part :-)

You're not bluffing here Sy.  Life is like a poker game.  Win or lose we bet our souls.

"It's all or nothing where I go."

Whoa!  Ante up! Me too, and I'm no good at hedging bets or bluffing.

I feel a bit speechless after reading this, but you've got me thinking!  It's a wonderful poem, Seymour.

I'll match your mood
and up the stake...
for life is moot
before the rake...

Dear Seymour,

Thanks again from stretching our minds. I believe heaven is all around, and interdemensional place.  Quantum Physics speaks of the non-local in which space nor time are.  This non-local is everywhere. I cannot believe heaven is any less.
