This is the first poem i've wrote for about 6 months, just had an urge to write something today while i was at work, hope you enjoy. I look to you for inspiration at the start of the day. Most days you stare at me blankly, never say a word. But your eyes speak in a silent tongue that vibrates against my inner ear Translating your stare. Some days, and seldom are these some days, I receive from you a smile, And that simple smile can change the way my day evolves. If only I could meet that greeting more often when I see you, But you always let me down. Tomorrow, today is forgotten, And I know what awaits as I wake in the morning. Even if I could stay in bed asleep, and forget about you, I know that you’ll be there, waiting, staring, passing instantaneous judgement on me with the first glance you receive. Day in day out I ask you the same question, To which you reply in the same way you sour my day, silence.. I ask, “ Why, why do you frown upon me mirror?”… |
