The dance of fire (Poi) |

Round and round spectacular fire moves into the rhythm of soul and Poi is given a grand rebirth far from ancestral ground where the force of a warrior man and the grace of an island girl trained and grew into maturity. And this spry and lithe dancer of fire smiles out to the midnight hours the secrets of a vast universe still yet to be realized and I know today that someday the forces of love will unite. Ringed and entwined in circles of fire love grows the head of a lion in guard and protection of the fragility of womanhood. Step in, step in, with apprehension because the circle of love never dies and he who would call himself a man must rise up in all honesty to the incredible force of the dance and the immeasurable reach of the flames night and day swirling and twirling from the beginning and unto the end! Helen, If it was in SA then it sure was far from the ancestral home. Nice point of view you have put on it though. |

Frank - thanks for the read. Yes, in SA because my middle son is the one for poi - maybe he has the fire inside where it counts! Take care. Helen |

What an intriguing write, Helen. This fire dance sure is a cool but hot ember of an ancient tradition. |
