"Your poem comes from a place of great pain." The Poet directs a smile toward reader J Reader A says, " It's about breaking free of one's chains." The Poet smiles and winks at reader A. Reader Q sees a spiritual revelation X knows it's about lost love. The Poet offers no explanation but smiles at all the above. Reader W says, " Some woman did you wrong." Reader S knows it's about the government. T.C. says it's a joyful song. Only the Poet truly knows what it meant. But he does not rob them of their gain nor will he close off any vent. He will not change their joy or pain Whether they are pleased or discontent. He shared his words. He shared his thoughts. More than this he will not share. Whatever you see...is whatever you sought. If you see it... It is there. |

I like this, it is very true......I know what mine are about, what fostered the metaphor, but then when the words come out, that gets glossed over and I end up writing so that the reader can insert his or her experience instead of trying to figure out mine....... or at least that's what I try to do |

And sometimes...sometimes, not even he. So it is with mine, all too often! |
