~Dedicated to Owl who first spoke of mysteries above my desk hangs a photograph of Debra Winger cigarette dangling from the corner of her lips her face half in shadow I think about her once in a while about the tiny scar above her lip how did you get the scar Debra was it a childhood accident remembered around the dinner table or something more sinister do you speak out if you need to or is that only in movies do you know that you are beautiful with or without the scar do memories haunt you or delight you are you happy Debra do you ever slip your shoes off in public because your feet hurt what mysteries do you hide in the shadow on your face [This message has been edited by The Lady (01-18-2006 03:43 PM).] |

Great lines how did you get the scar Debra was it a childhood accident remembered around the dinner table I love how you imply that her scar was an injury that she got from falling on the dinner table. You have described this very creatively...Remembered, what a awesome word and yet so simple |

Me? Thank you so much! I love the poem and how you make the photograph of Debra Winger the real person by wondering about her personality, thoughts and life and yet so mysterious by not knowing the answers to your questions. - Owl |

“above my desk hangs a photograph of Debra Winger cigarette dangling from the corner of her lips her face half in shadow” Then “do you ever slip your shoes off in public because your feet hurt what mysteries do you hide in the shadow on your face” Very interesting. JL |

Thank you Dark Stranger and JL. Dedicated to you Owl... in a previous poem of mine, "Song" you referred to the "mysteries" and inspired this poem. Thank YOU. |

Enjoyed this write. I am a huge Debra Wenger fan. Wonder if that husky voice quality that she has comes from smoking cigarettes? Just another musing as we mull the mysteries... Shenachie |

Good question. I don't even know if she smokes but I love the picture. |

I also enjoyed the musings of your muse. How enigmatic those hollywood faces can be, yet so familiar...and yes, Debra Messing is beautiful! |

Hi Lady~ I so enjoyed the sincerity and compassion in your poem. I think we all could write our own mysteries, skeletons and all~ |
