Beyond Sunsets

Sad are the silver irises that dream upon sunsets,
For they are hidden within the eyes of the soul,
As seekers of themselves search for shadows
But reflect only what others see;
Pieces of dreams, greed and jealousy,
Scarring the heart with invisible slits
That sting and steal the years away
With every teardrop and subtle smile.

Marcel

The depth of this pain moved me to tears.  The sadness conveyed was as vivid as I have ever read.  I thought; how rich the spectrum of this poets life, and how great the vessel was made, to hold abundant joy after.

"Sad are the silver irises that dream upon sunsets,

~ Your sorrowful, yet highly poetic words, have left me speechless ~ and feeling ever so sad...

That takes talent, Marcel!!!
