Well, you're up here sweating in your boots while the Devils in his union suit. Hell must be frozen over... For you to be here at my door. You said that's how it would have to be For you to ever come back to me. Yeah, you look Hot but can't you see I don't burn for you no more. Well you and the Devil don't stand a chance in Hell. Once, you almost had my soul, but I learned my lesson well. Yeah, y'all are cool but I aint no fool I'm not making that mistake twice. He aint got a leg to stand on... Hooves aint worth a damn on ice. That old flame is no longer lit So stay on your side of the pit. If it seems I'm being cold... Well I guess the tables turned. There's a big black hole 'tween you and me With no way to cross that I can see. Whatever chance there used to be... That bridge has long been burned. Hell is frozen over and the Devils turning blue. It's the first time that I've seen you Since you said that we were through. You said it would have to be that way... But I never thought I'd see the day... Hell is frozen over... But I'm finally over you. |

Woo hoo, preach it!!! I love poems like this, that are songs of the heart. I can hear this one in a fast beat country song. Good for you for standing your ground, because your right, the devil can't stand on ice because he is used to very hot locations lol. Great write. Always love reading yours.
