A tongue is yellow
from the taste
a pinky dipped discernment
grace
is sometimes something
in the place
of cadmium
and queen anne's lace--
a pistil leaning with the weight -
pick it carefully it is
the stuff that made the Van Gogh glow
in circles much too serious
and intricate with fingerprints
in places where a brush won't go
until you smile and let the bliss
flow between the sequences
allowing
all the things you know
to stand
outside of you

It is

what you have been living for...

(edited for spelling...and um, thanks )

I agree with Martie... Wow! That title knocked my sox off. I want to put it in my pocket and keep it. Is that okay?

I liked the pauses in the ending, it made it breathe, very nicely done Serenity, or maybe you prefer lady Blaze   Enjoyed..

Karen, this is a most wonderful poem!  You have given so much wisdom so beautifully....I feel the end of "Stigmata" the movie....you know where Arquette is walking around in the garden with a dove on her hand.  Loved this.   ....jo

serenity,
Cad? Me? Umm, could very well be, but, I've
never showed a hint of yellow. Just loved the flow of this and couldn't help noticing
how it incorporated more of a regular rhyme scheme than most of your works. But that's just stodgy ol' me.

into the library
next to my personal Vincent favorites
my sweetest sister, I love you even more than before, for this magical write

Do you remember this one from my muse, 2004?

I know your palette,
for I’ve seen your hues in nature’s clues.
I’ve seen yellow hay bales towering majestically
under a scorching orange summer sun
hanging from intense cobalt blue skies.
The bales were glowing the same mustard yellow
as the haystacks reflected in your eyes.
Those amber grains wave to me each day
alongside the deep viridian green alfalfa fields,
highlighted by splashes of poppies and boldest yarrow,
amid Queen Anne’s lace torn by treacherous thistles.
They greet me each day now, as they no doubt will tomorrow,
blending fluidly in contrast, a yin and yang dance,
as the blue cornflowers line up like wallflowers
the entire length of the gravel roadway and fence.
I am in awe, and bow my head and fold my hands.
And even as the sunflowers shout out your name,
I see the blackest midnight band of crows fly by,
flying in a rare "V" as if honoring your memory.
(Crows do not usually fly in a "V" pattern, as far as I know.)
I know your palette, Vincent.
For it is readily seen within nature’s clues.

way back when, just mixing paint was an art form in itself...

I thank you all, so very much for taking the time.

And Jan? grins, just 'cause....
