In the midst of death, life, in the midst of life, death. In between there be me from a time when I held both. Strange companions the dead and the dying, residue of the new clear and un-clear that come on shuffling feet with thin grey shadows on the edge of thought. Their eyes no longer bearing witness to a world that lies. Where even destruction has its limits and death is accorded a wreath when it is done in the name of freedom, just before it is taken through the gates of hell.
