FOUR DIFFERENT STATES OF THIS NIGHT

(In a state of) JOY AND REFLECTION

The beautiful day
Like this
I will look back on
I will miss
And see, remember
In faded colours
Shades of gray
With a tinted smile
And hints of blue
I wish I could share this
With you

(In a state of) BURNING

What evil I've done
Just to become
One of the others
To make you proud
So you could say
My son the officer

(In a state of) CONSCIOUSNESS

I know I'm a hypocrite
I know I'm a liar
I know I argue against
My own opinions and beliefs
I know I'm divided
But even as much as
I hate it I can't help it

So don't look at me like that
Stop loving me
I'm not what you think
I'm not the coloured scrap
You've painted me to be
If I were to reveal
My true tones
You'd hate me so
So please hate me

(In a state of) CONFUSING HOPELESSNESS

How much is a life worth?

How do we know when to stop?

We're no longer just spinning gently
Into eternity and oblivion
We're burning into overdrive

To win the election
We make war
Blood is great stuff
For the polls

Vote for genocide!

We've become supernatural
Who decides when it's enough

Where do we go from here?
From super to hypernatural?

We won't go back!

Love, is but a word
Our existence is fear
Chasing the comfort

We are numb
And we want more
To become even less

Oh! To be a dream

What's that?
Is that you?

Welcome to Passions! Enjoyed the rawness to this...I can't describe it any better but your words hit hard....

Androgynous! Wow! This is the
way you start? Terrific and
yes, raw and forceful!

Welcome!

Androgynous~
Welcome to our poetic circle of friends~

'Love, is but a word
Our existence is fear
Chasing the comfort'

This is a ponderous thought and I shall do just that~

Thank you so much for the beautiful reply you put on my 'Write Me A Mountain' ... I am always pleased when someone takes the time to reflect on the words that have fallen to the page~
It's a beautiful day to be a poetess~

Welcome to Passions!  I liked this poem.  It describes various seasons in our lives.  We go through different states at different points in our lives.  You wrote How much is a life worth?  A like is priceless, especially to God.  Very well thought out and very well written, you will be an excellent addition to Passions.  Once again, welcome.
