Rebirth

It was two life times ago,
or one lifetime and a death.

Or maybe,

it was a skipped heartbeat,
and a breath.

Twenty five years have past,
years,
come and gone.

A long long night,
without a dawn.

Betrayal of sacred trust,
innocent blood into the dust.

A candle extinguished,
darkness prevailed.

A life was lost,
and many derailed.

Tears have fallen,
for what was lost.

No one can say,
what the cost.

But now,...

there is cause to rejoice,
in song and dance,
time has offered another chance.

At long last,
a dawn is breaking,
a rebirth,
is in the making.

This one is a "personal poem"....I write 'em sometimes, and I think we all do. It's utterly gripping to read one, and know that there is so much angst behind its curtains that the writer can only bring himself to allude to its existence, but can't show it all....not yet....

If I were one of the frauen of these pages, I'd drop in one of those smiley-hugs right here.

I read this with tears in my eyes, but also a grateful heart for imminent love and healing.

Ratleader, you saw right through me with that big old heart of yours. Thank you for your reply. :-)

Thank you Martie, and Enchantress for the hugs. Mighty fine hugs they are! :-)

Thank you Paul, my emotions spill over sometimes. :-)

Thank you Klassy, I'm sorry I made you cry. But as you said healing is imminent and has already begun. :-)

Thank You Dixie, dusting off your wings too? :-)

This part sings so soft and
aching Steven.

~ Steve, you are not in the evening of your life, you truly are experiencing a rebirth in a newborn dawn. You pulled yourself up by the boot straps and carried on. There is strength in your gentleness~ and acceptance.

Thank You Lady, I like the way you say sings. :-) This is one of those things that you stuff back in a dark cornor of your heart and try to forget. It's so painful we think thats where it belongs but forgetting somethings is impossible. I guess I'm just cleaning house. :-)

Thank You Earth Angel, for the first time in a long time I revealed what happened to a dear friend. This friend has a way of making you believe love can conquer all. So I am exposing this darkness to that power. In so doing I do feel as though I am reclaiming my life, that I am being reborn, it's a great feeling. :-)

Your writing is haunting, addictive, like candy with a bitter-sweet taste
