I watch now,
Sunrises and sunsets,
Just to remember,
Least my heart forgets;
Memories of other times
When twilight was for two
And two together
Could find something to do
Beyond the watching.
Yet I long for touch
Even as I'm quickly receding.
I fall down the pit
Smoldering along the way
Waiting for another chance,
Waiting for another day.
