The Way We Do When the ache of your absence Has held me underfoot of heavy hours Thrash as I might against the weight And logic confirms itself upon me Branding a cross against my mind That I wrestle loneliness as chains It is then I realize that this This feeling of longing is not just and only But a message sent to me upon the wind Flowing hand over hand in its reach Stirring my spirit to rise and listen Calling out, in silent echo, calling Filling up the void in warmth Spilling fears unfounded forth Leaving worth fixated in my eyes Shyly asking least in all surprise Molding thoughts in feelings Making sense in senses And I lift the words to write In the language that we speak Sending back to you my heart In all its conjugated tenses And I see so optimistically That quietly you have swept my pillow Exposed my strength still beating Moved your fingers on my skin to stir That this is what is said upon your lips And nursed as ivory petals to be spring Taking all the rented pain a sigh away The way we do, without a word to say Copyright Kkh 4/6/06 |

passing cards, popcorn, one retired priest, a dozen hugs and a huge grin for ya! Certainly deserved...soon, yes soon....the dawn shall bring light to shimmering eyes and words of wisdom to soft lips... |

Not only is this a very beautiful poem, it is about a very special relationship, which you obviously appreciate very deeply. May you both cherish and nourish it forever. - Owl |

That quietly you have swept my pillow Exposed my strength still beating Moved your fingers on my skin to stir That this is what is said upon your lips And nursed as ivory petals to be spring Taking all the rented pain a sigh away The way we do, without a word to say ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Such a beautiful sigh you leave for me to keep, Kathleen.
