the Grand Lady bitter cold in late March our memories join us as we walk Martin and Coretta stroll arm in arm Daddy King smiles it is Sunday the queen of days in Sweet Auburn magnolia leaves stand green defiant they will not be moved dogwood drops its blood tinged blossoms at our feet it is the Lenten season mill houses link elbows with houses of the great mighty Ebenezer Baptist stands on the corner watching in its red brick history the future walks with us in sneakers and colorful hats they smile shyly whisper good morning to our memories http://sweetauburn.com/ [This message has been edited by The Lady (04-04-2006 06:07 PM).] |

You really capture the sweet south and the king and his love. It is brilliant! |

Thank you Page. I was so fortunate to be there when change was occurring and try to make a tiny dent myself. Now it is a joy to show my little ones the history of Sweet Auburn. |

"the future walks with us in sneakers and colorful hats they smile shyly whisper good morning to our memories" Striking lines, and these my favorite. How clever your regal mind Lady. Happy hearted, as your talented pen affirms. Much Enjoyed, TD |
