After having read a book titled "How To Swim", and having others who had learned this skill offer me instruction and advice... I still did not feel certain that I would not drown if plunged into watery depths. But, once I applied the techniques that had been laid down and practiced them in various levels... I personally experienced the joy of this activity. It was wonderful ! I watched a cooking show. After thirty minutes of hearing them sing praises as they prepared, completed and dined upon what they declared to be a delicious meatloaf... I still could not taste it. But, once I applied the techniques that had been laid down and added all the ingredients called for in the recipe... I personally experienced the joy of this dish. It was wonderful ! For years I listened to numerous theologians discussing whether God is "here" or "there". Have we lived before? Will we live again? Is there Freewill? Is all foreordained? Why are we here? Have we thought so much concerning the after-life that we wasted this life? I read the words of Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tse and many, many others. They were interesting philosophies. And at the end of it all I still did not have any answers. But, once I applied the techniques that had been laid down and added all the ingredients called for in the instructions and practiced them in various levels... I personally experienced the joy of Life. It is wonderful ! |
