Sitting here watching you,
Smiling through the pain.
Trying to make light,
Of the things you’re going through.
People choose not to see it,
It must be easier to turn away.
Not wanting to realize,
That you’re just a human, too.

But I’ve never been the kind,
To turn and take an easy trail.
Just a fact of my raising,
Country folk don’t run.
So, because of that I’ll stand,
Steady at your side.
Cause I don’t care how big you are,
Or how all right you seem to be.
Your eyes tell a story,
Different from your words.
Just remember every strong cowboy,
Still needs a caring friend.

Know yourself before you try to know someone else.

Love this!  Warms me to those "country folk" who have the compassion to take the time to see and mend what's hurting.

A great, compassionate read.  This is the first I've read of you and man I'm glad I did.  You have great talent.  Simple yet very profound message.  Ready to read more of your work.  Thanks for sharing this.

Warm regards,

Kevin

I LOVE IT!!!  I'm a city gal & I dont pretend either!  We all go thru our little problems but, some people know how to mask, hide and appear to be o.k. even when they are at the lowest point- It takes that true friend to ask "are you O.K" and really mean it.  Nice job...
