The Walk Alone

Image hosting by Photobucket

At times, I feel I walk alone
and my journey seems so long,
I think back to those crossroads
where I may have turned off wrong.

People tell me there's nothing
I can do about the past,
and all the worries of the future
should, unto God, be cast.

That's really hard to do
when dark is all I see,
when it seems I walk alone
and God is ignoring me.

Maybe today is the day...
I pray the way be shown,
for I'm getting much too weak
to continue this walk alone.

Nancy, thank you so much. He walks with me yes. Sometimes He is quiet though when I want some conversation, yaknow?

Marge, oh how I adore that thread! Thanks for reminding

passing shadows, when He is silent, that is when He is listening to you talk to Him so that He can understand exactly what you want.  Then He will think about it and then give you what you most need, rather than want - but you need to pause and look around you so that you can see what his gift is, and then listen to the advice He is giving, that goes along with his gift.

Wishing you strength, companionship, wisdom, kindness and love to wrap around you like sunshine on a winter's day.

I understand Dixie.
Perhaps put this way...
I believe in the sun
even when it's not shining.
I believe in love even
when not feeling it.
I believe in God
...even when He is silent.

Hugging you tight, Nancy

Wonderful poetry and responses, Dixie.  Going to have to confiscate this for my library because of the all that is brought to surface in poetry and response.  Next time I have these questions, I'll know where to look!

You express yourself with such wonderful honesty. I also love the photo with it.  May I keep a copy of this, please?

Such a sad and lonely poem passing shadows, yet so tenderly expressed.

At times, I feel I walk alone
and my journey seems so long,
I think back to those crossroads
where I may have turned off wrong.

I think it might just be the other way around...walking alone is not the worst thing that can happen, sometimes, its a recipe for self exploration, an awakening

People tell me there's nothing
I can do about the past,
and all the worries of the future
should, unto God, be cast.

people don't know everything, or what's best for each individual...God doesn't pull us from the hoard of dispair, he gives us choice...to sink or swim...we are what we believe ourselves to be.

That's really hard to do
when dark is all I see,
when it seems I walk alone
and God is ignoring me.

He is not ignoring you...you, are ignoring him, as we are like children...who act out when we don't get our way...we know God is good, he is the image of all the things we should be doing, but we don't want to do those right things by ourselves sometimes?

Maybe today is the day...
I pray the way be shown,
for I'm getting much too weak
to continue this walk alone.

I remember feeling like this at one point in my life...then realized, I cannot base my success, my happiness on someone else's approval...we're all weak slobs that think we have all the answers...and we don't...thats just life...we can though, make it a good life, or a bad one...our choice...we are our own worst enemies, yanno?

Hugs to ya Lady...so good to see you back.

True. But I think that learning how to walk in the dark is a large part of what faith is all about. And remember though you may not see us, there are many others who are walking in the dark with you...

NICE!!!!
Ever heard that saying "he may not come when you call BUT he's always right on time"?Everyone I am for certain has come to that point in which they have felt as if they too were alone.  It get's better because you are not alone!!!!
