Predilection Purple

Predilection purple of April rain
Makes more hospitable an easy chair evening
Green tea steaming; frothy bubble foot soaks
My reading light set soft, my heart to listen

Thin, the whispering of your name echoes surely
Made pale in the wrapping of down, close and far
Mouthing futile incantations to smile absurdly
That I might transcend this longing for now

We are friends, uniquely and reverently
Humble as love blossoms forth just the same
Perpetual bloom, and I fan my eyes at the moon
Questioning your silent times as hidden doubt

It is not you I doubt…but truth
Evasive sends the innumerable quiet to smother fear
Reading my emotions through closed eyes
Touching there upon your sleeve a question

Might we be the deeper dream in repertoire?
Kept separate from the usual fare
In these moments sated in the damp of trust
My reading light set soft, my heart to listen

TD

Trust was the word that caught me ....and made the poem whole!  As all your poems are so very beautiful!

"We are friends, uniquely and reverently
Humble as love blossoms"

These words stopped me in my tracks.  Wow! Love your description here!

Oh yes. I love the whole poem but the ending is wonderful.

Enticing write.  Left me wanting to hear more.  And more.

These were my favourite lines in this well crafted poem!

"We are friends, uniquely and reverently
Humble as love blossoms forth just the same
Perpetual bloom, and I fan my eyes at the moon
Questioning your silent times as hidden doubt"

Such love and hope expressed so delicately
in words that are but a puzzle waiting to
be laced delicately together.
