5236 A Love Vain 30 March 2006 She was beautiful when she had my child and all I could do - was walk away A truth withheld - a love of vain to know her inside and neither love proclaim This life of moments to dawn fourteen years spoken forth A father in neither name - nor parent a love taken - never to be restored Where beauty was an eye to behold an ugliness of a relationship bound Her duty and one to overcome a heart broken - unable to be as one This father - still waiting for birth his child to hold - love and nurse A babe to breast - each drink of strength or to die without death - a father neither to rest “Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.” Proverbs 1: 17 KJV a poet who cares |

Interesting, this... especially when my own spouse asked just this evening to write about parents who leave behind the best of them... before their time. Either one's time. Yes, interesting. I may have to expound. Thank you, sir. |
