I Hate Crossword Puzzles

Crosswords spelling out my thoughts
Mixed and jumbled together for naught
Numbering the letters to make a word
Counting across, up then down, like a nerd
Making no sense to me cause you can’t be kind
Why did I pick you up to twist up my mind?
I ain’t the crossword puzzle kind!

AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!

Heck, I’m tired,
It’s past my bedtime…

"Why did I pick you up to twist up my mind?"

Don't we just do the strangest things to ourselves?  I've been there a time or two myself - perhaps it's just an escape or an avoidance of other thoughts that may spin us faster.   Either way, they can be addictive so get ready for more late nights!

Just think?...When ya get tired of those damn puzzles, you can go thru the 'obits' in the newspaper...then grab a phone book...and cross off all the names you got from the obits?....

I hate Crosswords, but love some of the
other Variety Puzzles. When you buy those
kinds of books, you don't get bored with one kind
of puzzle so much. LOL

Hello my friend

Hate those cross-word puzzles. They boggle my mind. Instead I open the dictionary, then try and make a tongue twister. Strange.

Cross word puzzles?  A definite Nay for me--I'm lucky to be able to pronounce a word, let alone match the meaning they offer in the book!  Much enjoyed your poem!

I'm told it's just a matter of practice, but have never given it enough myself.  Enjoyed your rant, JL.

My sentiments, exacty.  Crosswords, give me cross words.  Thanks for the smile.  I'd choose a downy quilt over a tangle of words any day!
