For the loss of another friend.

I bow my Head

I bow my head and count the dead
My shawl is less another thread
The wind cuts through its tender frame
The fire banks another flame

I used to roar and shake my fist
But time has turned another twist
And though I can’t accept the change
It is a product of this grange

I feel the eddy’s touch of near
I feel the steady wear and tear
Each breath is full of echoes goal
Each death rains down upon my soul

My skin is thin my bones are weak
And drips roll down my nose in leak
My thoughts seek refuge from my mind
My hearings hard, my eyes go blind

I bow my head and count the dead
For soon will go another thread

Not even understanding helps.  Only time can soften this.  I wish you well.

I must say that as time passes our shawls do indeed become a little threadbare, and tend to warm us less.

I am so sorry for the loss of a friend Sy.
