where the speakers of cold water stand in their boats of leather and spin their mouth songs like the raven does her beckon there am I this morrow in my rusty armor I search for oil from the belly of whales for my lamp to guide the blind I hear the chains on hollow boards and feel the hooves of their beasts that drag their skins over the nailheads making new names on their arms names from the sky word book names without christians or souls names that are sounds of crying before the birth belly bursts and dawn smothers them silently golden _______________ daark |

I think I'll just call you Jonah. The dawn must have "smothered him silently golden" when he finally saw it, being spewn from darkness and the belly of the great fish. In Ninevah, the sounds of hooves, the mark of the beast, and chains may well have echoed in that city, before they shaped up...just as it was for Jonah. You, my friend, totally amaze me as you weave this story in 13 lines! Incredible! Klassy |
