I guess I'm not foolin anyone but me.
I think I'd rather be blind than see.
I lost her love so long ago,
she's bearly a memory.
Yet I'm still pretendin,
she didn't mean a thing to me.

I still look for her in every face I see,
or maybe what I'm lookin for is me.
I'm chained to a memory,
that just won't set me free.
I guess I'm not foolin anyone but me.

I've tried to pick up the pieces of my heart.
But it ain't been easy,
the way she tore it all apart.
Somedays I can fly like an eagle,
some I come crashing down.
Somedays I think I'll survive her love,
some I'm still her clown.

But I'll keep holdin on,
and I'll keep travlin on.
I'll write every heartache,
I'll write every heartbreak,
and I'll write every teardrop in a song.

A man of many talents.  I could hear the tune as I read this.  Good country rhythm

I hear writing helps heal a broken heart.
Very good writing.

Definately another song of love and heartbreak!  Well done!

I'm waiting for the music, Steven.  This pines for guitars and percussion.   You do lyrics beautifully!  I can't wait to hear it.

It is all so sad and wonderful.

I really can't thank you all enough.
You'll never know how reading your work and hearing your encouraging replys have meant to me. You have helped me to sort out and recognize things that I didn't even know was hidden in this old heart of mine. You have all inspired me with the unselfish and courageous sharing of your inmost thoughts and feelings. I have been blessed by you, may God bless you all in return!:-)
