A Man Named Paul By Paul Wilson Put up your dukes boy lets see what you got he use to say to me A slap on side of head with open hand made me see red (color of anger) Come on boy learn how to fight another slap on side of head made the tears fall (and he would laugh) Boy you still wet behind the ears you wanna be a man dry those damn tears take a stand I would try to slap his head and he would bob and weave Staying just out of reach Taunting me… no reprieve I’d chase him crying and cussing him under my breath but always loving him I’m gonna go catch me some shrimp tomorrow he’d say You wanna come or stay here and play Take me gramp’s I wanna go with you school can wait playing can too I’ve got his name and looks I confess I’ve got his blood flowing thru my chest He taught me right and made me strong He was my favorite for his love I will always long The tears I shed are not for him they are tears of hurt for the pain he left me with ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (03-29-2006 06:56 AM).] |

Dixie...All is well, I just happen to think of my grandfather whom I was named after for the first time in a long time today. My memory took me back to when I was a kid of 7 or 8 when he use to play fight with me and times we spent together on his shrimp boat. he passed away some 20+ years ago, but his memory still remains. Thanks dear lady for caring...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
