Eyes upon her Eyes beyond her Eyes open her Eyes don’t see her Fingers touch her Fingers feel her Hands caress her But can’t heal her Everybody left her lonely Privileges gone like candy Painting herself, eyes in white chalk Mouth restricted from all small talk Advance warning didn’t apply Locked in sin as hell’s days went by Strapped to herself and her mirror Her reflection couldn’t stand her Locked doors inside held her safely Hadn’t seen the devil lately Fingernails scraping the floor Acting out so she could feel more Begging for a locked seclusion Etiquette lost in confusion Quarantined for loss of control Maintained misery for her soul Eyes upon her Eyes beyond her Eyes open her Eyes don’t see her Fingers touch her Fingers feel her Hands caress her But can’t heal her The real purpose of the steel doors Is security from self wars And though she was never allowed Still she infiltrated the crowd Made her omnipresence noticed Tweaked life’s lenses out of focus Just to make her world safe and sound Sat and laughed as others fell down Tired of life sprawled out on the floor Yes, abuse was hard to ignore Life checks every fifteen minutes Same time, same room, same indifference Still......... |
