So... a new day has dawned. I can already see... Its going to be "one of THOSE days". The ones where I can't decide... Who do I pretend to be? Nothing is pressing. Nothing required. Nothing expected A day where I have...free rein. Yep, one of THOSE days. Do I go over to the college to sit by the river and play soft magical tunes on the flute? There, I am seen as "spiritual" and "mystical". Do I go to the "Little Opry" or to the Country Store... switching between guitar and mandolin, and be a "good ol' boy"? Do I make a brief stop at the old watering hole where they still call me "Brother" and hope that they can buy me drinks until I agree to wrangle them a deal on a dusty '55 Pan they say is "going to waste"? I could take the "kids" fishing... Pretend I am "Daddy" or...Go shopping with "the wife" and be "Honey"..... Its all glorious! Whatever is decided.... is ALWAYS glorious. Whatever I pretend to be... is not pretense. I am all of those things and no - thing But....on this one of "THOSE" days... I think I will just close my eyes... Let "Mind" go away... Fall into a deep dreamless sleep... Where I am not pretending to be anything "here" in "Life" or "there" in "dream" No "identifying" No "seeing" Just be the totally complete all encompasing empty space... that I AM |
