I know I'm the lucky one
to have
a friend - like you.
Yet, I know you're not the one
to tell me what to do.

You know my story.
You know my pain.
You know my glory.
You know my shame.
You've seen my worst days,
you've seen my best,
listen close...
now hear the rest!

If you only knew that girl.
If you only knew what hazel can eyes say.
If you only knew that girl,
then you'd only, then you'd only, say...

If you only hold her close.
If you only tell her that you need her so.
If you only make the most
of the time you spend with her.

I been here, baby, for so long
you know, I'm leaving...
even though I'll be gone away,
I know you know this feeling.
