The Wind Lays On

One might believe
it were time for quiet waft
that winds might blow
to cross and bless sweet
sound of chimes, and pear blossoms
in bloom

but lo, and no, those chimes ring loud,
with clear rancor,
so swift this course of wind,
and so much more,

and more.  Soon, pelting ice
will sting, then the many winds
will bring
the chill of time, that might be some
stop to spring,

but only His hand will sting
with stay from loss, might bring hope
of more, in store, that
some chill that fills
the vastness of plain
to give His brethren some thought
to complain…

but in the silence of the hiss
there is a voice alone, in bliss,
some voice that knows
a more common score,

and prays that He
love His, evermore.

The winds still sting; this snow
so white, yet somewhere in His time
of might, He levels all with thought
of hope…
it is this we hold, this golden rope.

We cling to pray, to bevel levels
for raindrops bow, we sing
in hovels, we know of what
was all so vile,
we place some blame, yet
stand in denial.

For what could we have done,
to bring such sudden course,
what? We ask, in remorse,
are we so bad? To whom lay blame?

Nay, the Word, ‘tis Nature’s game
to right the world as ‘twas always done,
and separate weak from strong

yet human mind is such as made
from His own hand, its how we’re splayed
in thought of right, accepting somewhat
doom;
yet, we speak and fight for this
one room.

One room in His house, the voice of us…
and the wind lays on,
drowning the cuss.

Deep, well done,  yes, one room is all we
can hope for.

Your words sing in this poem.  Beautiful write Sunshine.

“And it shall come to pass in that day that the LORD shall give you rest from your sorrow. And from your fear, and from the hard slavery in which you were made to serve”
~Isaiah 14:3

Sissie

"One room in His house, the voice of us…
and the wind lays on,
drowning the cuss."

One room in any house will hold a prayer, even if just one prayer.  You are so special!

Deep becomes you...it's definitely your color. You should wear it always.

Enjoyed this one Sunshine...although I shivered a little...it is springtime now...I hope!

This was...

as usual (coming from you), masterfully written!!!

my favorite line:

"yet human mind is such as made
from His own hand, its how we’re splayed"

I REALLY liked "splayed"...made the poem for me, it did...

Thanks!

Kathy
