From the moment I discovered your presence I fell deeply in love with you I could not have been more frightened Then when the doctor’s told me I was due I longed to hold in my arms Though there you could not stay My heart shattered in two When I gave you up that very day A better life to you I give As with my decision I must live A better life for me I pray And may I meet you again one day I celebrate your birthday without regret Because I could not offer you the best You deserved much better than I had to give I pray you are happy with the life you live If you ever wonder if I loved you If you ever wonder if I cared Know that no greater love could a mother have Than the love it took for your misery to be spared Know that I love you, even still Know that God loves you and always will Lyn Eagleton 11/8/2005 |

"A better life to you I give As with my decision I must live A better life for me I pray And may I meet you again one day" Lyn, I read this with tears in my eyes as I have my own personal story.. much the same as yours. With a very surprising and rewarding outcome. If you care to email me..please feel free to do so. Very well written poem..could not have said it better myself. Heart hugs~Nancy In the midst of winter, I found there lives within me.. An invincible summer. |
