Well, you think you've got troubles? Everyones got complaints. Brother, you aint in my shoes... And should be glad that you aint. You just don't know how fortunate that you are. Come and hear my sorrow and thank your lucky stars. One thing I've always wanted was a pretty Bluetick hound All I've got is this big black cloud, that follows me around. I bought myself a rabbit's foot to try and make my luck go right. It turned out to be a black cat's paw, they'd gone and dyed it white. I hear them freight trains rolling... Man, their calling to me... Theres at least a million places that I'd much rather be. I think of grabbing my guitar and moving on down the line Then my woman's Evil Eye sends a chill up my spine. That woman rides my back like its a rodeo. She's got a PBR poster where our "Welcome" mat goes. She reminds me of Lassie and Ol' Yeller too 'Cause she hounds me if I don't and she dogs me when I do. I guess I probably should have run the first day that I met her. She's stubborner than any mule and only looks a little better. But I was born real long and ugly, and my Mama would pray that I'd take on human features as I gained a little age. I'm glad all thats behind me and I finally changed to the handsome hunk of flesh that you see here today. Yeah, theres a black cloud hovering over my head. I'd have to feel better... Just to wind up dead. But when I'm dead and buried... Please don't give me no stone; 'Cause she'll only dig me up... Just to gnaw on my bones. That woman barks at me and my kids all bite. If I ever find that Preacher... He'll be shot on sight! So, in our drinking sessions... Don't you sing me your blues. Brother, you don't know depression... 'Til you've walked in my shoes. I only ask two favors of you.... Don't be stingy with the drinks. And when I'm dead, bring fragrant flowers, 'Cause brother, my life stinks. |

You have a very natural touch, with a poem....and with a story. The more I read, the more I like! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

This poem doesn't leave much to say. We have so little to defend ourselves with. To be fair to them, though, for most of our lives, defence is the last thing on our minds. How we love them. And don't they know it. The weaker sex? Whoever thought that one up? I've only been damaged below the waterline by two women in my entire life. Pumping ever since to stay afloat, instead of sailing.(Oddly enough, one was from Colorado, the other from Philadelphia... I'm English) If you've been hurt by a woman, Then get your dumb ass over here. French girls are different--I promise; You ain't got nothin' to fear. And if I'm wrong, (and it can happen, Not often, but from time to time), Then, well, at least, you and I can get pretty well drunk, on some pretty good bottles of wine. I'll send you home singing, With, if yr lucky, a demoiselle clinging. Whichever, you'll have had a good time. And if you sing the song, and Accent it right, she'll Entwine you just like a vine, And here's the good thing, Before you can think it, She'll be bottled. Love? You'll be able to drink it. But if you're not quite sure, And free from fear, then of course, I'll be happy to pour you a beer. But why, and I ask this as a brother, Is there a Government health warning On one, and nothing on the other? |
