yesterday is across the street
in the big white house
with too much makeup
and too little warm

she waves sometimes
when she is in the yard
with the lace apron on
over the gown of her statue

and I wonder of her eyes
how does stone feel
when it is kissed softly
at the edge of tear places

or would she even know
and I wonder of her hands
if i broke them from their pose
and bound them palm parallel

could I teach her how to pray

She would most likely
pray for release...

Your insight never ends...

hmmmmm, no trespassing ordinances?  Arms open and palms up are much better when one prays...Do stone eyes write in lava upon the heart?  And how long can they hold the warmth of the sun?

A not so subtle poem. Enjoyed the read.

DS  I think you could soften any hard substance with a poem or two.

Mr. Stranger, I like this one a lot.
Your poetry is like a kaleidoscope...
so many meaningful colors.

you could soften one~
as easily ~
as you could harden another~
