Captivated Could there have been another time I held you in my arms; Succumbing to your loveliness And captured by your charms? It seems there could not be a world In which there was no you. You're the freshness of the morning, The sweetness of the dew. It took but one brief glimpse to know You were the one I sought. Days lived before my love for you Are counted now as naught. Though circumstance may change us both, I promise you today This all-consuming love I feel Shall never go away. Without a thought of self I am Amazingly beguiled And evermore enamored by My precious newborn child. By: Joyce Johnson 2/16/06 |

You convey the love of a child that nearly makes ones heart burst. Such a sweet and dreamy lullabye. Beautifully said and done, Joyce. |

I, too am captivated by the wonder of little souls... They are so capable of bringing the pure Self to the forefront in every mother ...and the Mind is given a backseat. I love this poem of rhythm and rhymes and pentameters...as fresh and pure as a newborn baby and as flowing smoothly like a refreshing stream. |

"It seems there could not be a world In which there was no you." Isn't it amazing that we KNOW those newborn faces the moment we see them... alomost as if we remember them? Maybe there never was a world without your little one in it. What a beautiful poem for your child. |

Joyce~ There is such a preciousness to this piece~ It captures my heart in feelings of knowing exactly those special moments of which you pen~ So poetically marvelous you are~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Thanks to all of you for your comments. It has been a long, long time since I held that new little being, but the memory is as fresh as tomorrow. Love, Joyce |
