Ugly Duckling long seeks to win
The love, attention and a place to fit.

Working hard in this cold, unfriendly land.
"Why doesn't it work." it laments.

So do I long to seek a place,
for myself, with an ugly face.

Beauty is a stranger to me.
A swan i will never be.

Who is that beauty who love the beast?
A rare find indeed.

Im still waiting for my prince charming.
Hope to meet him outside my sleep.

FNG...

It wasn't until the last few years or so that I stopped referring to myself as an ugly duckling - not so much in the way I look, but in the way I felt I never "fit".  I think that ability comes to us as we "try, try again" to find our niche in the world.

I think I found my niche around June 25, 1999.

Well expressed, great theme, I think everyone canrelate on some level. I used to feel VERY out of place, too unique and ugly, but time does heal most wounds, and you learn that your idiosyncrasies or 'less than' features are blessings in disguise.....The prince usually does come...eventually.  I'm still waiting too.

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!
