i've never been this jealous before

i can't stand to see her heart soar

            with other guys

i've asked so many why's

like why did i sever all my ties?

why couldn't i appreciate the pies

           she was baking

when they were there for the taking?

now, there's no slaking

             my thirst

      to want to be first

            in her life

so i guess i'm just cursed

to be in love with some else's wife

with no way to cut through the strife

             i caused

because i didn't pause

             to think

that i was on the brink

of losing the egg nog i so love to drink

       every Christmas
