It guides me through the day
Reflected in the most unexpected
of places.
Smoke billowing out a chimney
warming the souls within.
A shiny penny in the snow,
snatched up, to make a day, just that bit luckier.
Those navy blue flecks in your new born child's eyes.
A soldier returning home from war
to find his lover waiting, with the porch light on.
Rays of sunlight bursting through
the cracks of an overcast sky.
A teenager that took the taxi home
not his car.

It is the flame of a candle
which lights a darkened room.
Turning the gouls and ghosts
a toddler sees back into
shelves and a chair.
It's sometimes as hidden
as the needle within a haystack
But it is always there,
silently ready to be called upon.

More precious than diamonds
and more common than grass,
yet few possess it, few find
what they are searching for. Few find
the tool they need for the search.
Sadly few realise, they
had it all along.
But now and then, in the course of your journey
You find the needle. And when you do,
you discover, the needle never lived within that haystack.

The needle lives with you.

I am a wilted black rose. Searching for cracks of sunlight, to nurture me. And to help me grow.

I enjoyed the read, the interesting needle metaphor. Do you ever get 'stuck' and wish it would just leave you alone?
