There is
A particular smell
In the summer air
Someone—has been
To the garden

With the scent
Of that fruit
On yet smiling lips

As if the words just said
Were a benediction

intriguing write, John
open to several interpretations

in the garden of mankind

I like the poem, but I'm confused by the topic title.

Martie,

If there was a tree
whose fruit could open eyes
why not a tree whose fruit
can close them?

we want to die with eyes wide open
not live with eyes closed
who eat the fourth course as second?
it is not he tree, it is the eagerness.

always good.
