There is no way I can contain it, It contains me in its nature It is part of what you’d call spirit, That soothes and nurtures. When things seem so formless, My mind pieces together what’s not there Hiding behind fear and darkness, Pulling it out and to share. For what is ugly And for that matter also, For what is beauty, In the darkness you don’t know. You wander around by feeling Each touch becomes revealing And when not touching Fades in the concealing. What happens when you strike a light In hope of burning away, You’ll see what gives you fright And you’ll be running away; Better you not even know The brightening of your fear That the lighting did show Revealing how it is near. Would it be better never to see And never let the fear be free? There is no way you can contain it Darkness comes on you as it wills Till fears tempers your spirit And courage’s forge rebuilds. this is a perfect example of how fear keeps us from enjoying life...I loved this, and the way you express in poetry...your free form is showing, marvelously. |

"Would it be better never to see And never let the fear be free?" a ponderful question I've always loved shadows and seek the moments that dwell between the dark and the light |

For what is ugly And for that matter also, For what is beauty, In the darkness you don’t know. You wander around by feeling Each touch becomes revealing ~*~ Much to be said about touch, feel, braille and darkness... yet, without light... who knows what grows? So many sides to the roundness of this, Sir. |
