It’s cold outside, the trees are bare Her breath hangs heavy in the air Bundled up from head to toe With no place special for her to go Down the street, on the snow covered walk Mr. Riley, in front of his shop, wants to talk She stops a minute to chat with her friend Wishes him well as their pleasantries end She likes to walk to clear her mind Of how he left her far behind And took another for his own Killing the love that she had sown Reaching the café, she starts to go in When she sees him there with his new girlfriend Laughing and talking, kissing her cheek The despair in her heart has reached its peak Turning around and walking away This bright, cold morning has turned to gray She traces her steps back to her home Never has she felt any more alone It’s cold inside, her life is bare Her love hangs heavy in the air She wanted him from head to toe But now she has to let him go. |

Okay Mike, fess up do you also write prose? If you do - start plugging it in there will you, as your stories are absolutely marvelous! |

I loved how you placed the setting in the snow, and how cold and lonely her heart felt near the end. I love romantic love stories~ ~ARH "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take - but by the moments that take our breath away." |
